Clinical Background

Dr. Weller began practicing clinical psychology nearly 15 years ago under the supervision of licensed clinicians. During his doctoral program, he completed diverse clinical training across the San Francisco Bay Area, including:

  • A correctional facility in Solano County

  • The Berkeley Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinic (Berkeley CBT Clinic)

  • An inpatient psychiatric emergency hospital in Alameda County

  • Private practice as a Psychological Assistant, specializing in evidence-based treatments

He completed his Pre-Doctoral Internship and Post-Doctoral Training in a forensic setting in Los Angeles, conducting individual therapy, group therapy, and forensic-related assessments.

These dynamic experiences give Dr. Weller a solid foundation for supporting adults managing significant responsibilities across diverse stages and challenges in life.

Working with Adults Carrying Significant Responsibility

Dr. Weller’s unique combination of clinical expertise and executive leadership provides him with an insider’s perspective on the pressures faced by high-demand professionals. Having navigated high-stakes decision-making and complex organizational challenges himself, he understands firsthand the mental, emotional, and physical aspects that sustained responsibility can take.

He recognizes that adults in leadership roles or other high-responsibility positions often experience stress, anxiety, and burnout in ways that differ from the general population. Decisions carry weight, performance is scrutinized, and the margin for error is small—yet the expectation to appear competent and composed remains constant.

In therapy, Dr. Weller draws on this understanding to create a collaborative, solution-focused environment. He works with people to identify patterns that may be contributing to chronic stress or unhelpful coping strategies and develops practical, actionable tools to manage challenges effectively. His approach emphasizes clarity, emotional flexibility, and sustainable strategies that allow professionals to perform at their best while maintaining personal well-being.

By combining rigorous clinical training with real-world executive experience, Dr. Weller helps adults carrying significant responsibility navigate pressure with insight, resilience, and purpose, creating meaningful change both professionally and personally.
